"The goodness of a person and of the society he or she lives in often comes down to very simple things and words found in the Scout Law. Every society depends on trust and loyalty, on courtesy and kindness, on bravery and reverence. These are the values of Scouting, and these are the values of Americans."
Pres. George W. Bush

Congratulations to all who attended the Klondike. I think the teamwork and persistence this year was better than I have ever seen. We know what we need to work on, and we will begin that in the next couple months. Finally we've got 1st aid down.
Since we are keeping the same officers, we will begin aviation this week.

Raif Pomeroy
March 27, 1966 - July 22, 2007
Several members of Troop 55 were lucky enough to sail with Captain Raif Pomeroy last January during their trip to the Florida Seabase. We were deeply saddened to learn of his recent death in a Scuba diving accident in the Bahamas.
Raif was a passionate diver and a wonderful singer. He did a great job teaching our scouts about the wonders of the sea and was kind enough to share some of his music with them.
Thank you, God, for giving us the opportunity to sail with Raif and hear his fantastic voice in the Bahamas. He will be missed greatly.
